The Hollywood Reporter named Nick Vatterott one of the “break-outs” at his Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival debut. Since then he has performed on Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Comics Unleashed, AXS TV, What's your [email protected]%king deal and has a half hour special on Comedy Central. Nick was a producer/writer/performer on Comedy Central’s stand-up sketch hybrid show Mash Up. He's written for MTV, the critic's choice awards and GORBURGER. He's done panel on Red Eye and made an appearance on TRU TV's Friends Of The People. His album FOR AMUSEMENT ONLY was named one of the TOP TEN albums of the year by Vulture, Laughspin and Splitsider. Splitsider also recently highlighted him in their "ON THE VERGE" series. Vulture also named him in their list of THE 50 comedians you should know. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Andy Kaufman Award. And before heading off to NYC, Chicago Magazine listed Nick as “The Funniest Man in Chicago.” Nick Vatterott’s comedy has been called high-energy, improvisational, unconventional, outside the box, but most of all hilarious! (HE NEVER CALLS IT THAT, BUT YOU BETTER BELIEVE HE'LL THROW THAT COMPLIMENT IN HIS BIO!!!)
CATCH HIM THIS WEEK AT UNDER THE GUN FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT 8pm
Two respected pillars of the Chicago independent comedy season combine forces to produce a truly unique program!
Acclaimed North Side comedy theater Under the Gun and the nation’s longest running independent stand up showcase The Lincoln Lodge are partnering to produce a program containing sketch, improv, stand up and storytelling shows all under one roof in a true first for the Chicago comedy scene.
Angie McMahon, Owner of Under the Gun Theater comments that “We were looking for an innovative approach for our fall and winter programming and when we heard that the Lincoln Lodge was seeking a new venue we decided to invite them to come on over to our house! We are excited that the inclusion of a stand up focused showcase in our offering also presents a lot of opportunity for collaboration and innovation across the comedy disciplines”
Mark Geary, president of Tight Five Productions, the non-profit that produces the Lincoln Lodge, added “It’s no secret that we are actively looking for a permanent home for our productions so when the invite came for a place to produce our 18th Lincoln Lodge season we jumped at the chance to partner on a truly unique experiment in programming.
Not only will the Lincoln Lodge be joining established Under the Gun hits like Tinderella and Breaking News in its weekly offering but Tight Five Productions will also be leveraging its relationship with the Stand up community to bring other shows into the collaboration. To that end the critically acclaimed Blackout Diaries show hosted by renowned Chicago comedian and producer Sean Flannery has already been added to the slate of programming at Under The Gun theater set to debut in September of 2017.

During the Fall *Jake Arrieta, Cubs World Series Champion, took an Improv workshop at Under The Gun Theater. "I just really love Improv. Everyone knows you can't really make a living doing Improv, but it is my true passion. So I have my day job to support my artistic love," said Arrieta. "I am super pumped to be performing and hosting my first Improv show," Arrieta continued.
"Strike Out with Jake Arrieta" at its heart is a show about love...hosted by *Jake Arrieta. Jake will interview audience members about bad dates they have gone on and then Jake and the Under The Gun Ensemble will perform Improv based on the stories.
*PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE REAL JAKE ARRIETA, THIS IS AN ACTOR PLAYING JAKE ARRIETA.*
Relationships are hard. Dating is harder. That’s why Blind Date is here to help Chicagoans find love, or at least a reasonable approximation. Blind Date matches two people on a very real blind date who will navigate all the excitement and curiosity of a first date on stage. The cast then improvises all the romance and challenges of this couple's future together. We cannot stress enough that this is a very real blind date. It is sure to be a show that's as spark-filled as you would expect any successful blind date to be.

After the hugely popular post about 7 things Hillary Clinton has in common with your abuela, the Clinton campaign has a new list for you: 7 ways Hillary Clinton is just like your Uncle Tom.
Everybody loves Uncle Tom, even this guy
- She rolls over for the system.
- She has a wife and kids back on the farm that she misses dearly.
- She self-identifies as a black male slave in the 1800s
- Pretty sure her and Uncle Ruckus from The Boondocks would get along well.
- She refuses to beat her peers, she lets the Democratic National Committee do that for her.
- Everyone is confused as to what she’s really about. Like, is she a passive slave? or like, just the embodiment of Christianity to serve a larger point? Uncle Tom/Hill, you confusing girl! LOL!
- She has never read the book “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”
Allison Reese would like to invite you to see Matt Damon: Women of Color doing comedy… and also one white guy at Under The Gun Theater on January 10th at 9pm.
