Josh Seiter is in the House!
When talking about our second run of “Will You Accept This Rose?”, show-runner Erin Diehl came up to me and said “I want to get actual contestants from The Bachelor on the show this time around.” Ever the optimist, I responded “Of course!” while really thinking “How on earth are we going to do that?” If there’s one thing I’ve come to realize through this process with Erin, it’s never to underestimate her hustle. Her hustle always delivers.
The gracious and charismatic Josh Seiter graced us with his presence last night. Infamous for his memorable striptease entrance on “The Bachelorette”, Josh volunteered to be interviewed as inspiration for our Bachelor. I could describe the contents of the interview to you, but as they say- a picture is worth a thousand words.
Our host Christina Harrison kept her cool just long enough to learn that Josh enjoys spending time with his friends and family in his hometown of Champaign-Urbana, watching movies, and painting landscapes in his free time. As they are want to do, our cast of improvisers took that inspiration and ran with it. Some of our contestants included painter Barbara Russell, recent women’s prison inmate Rosco, and hermit crab documentarian Matilda. Our Bachelor represented Josh well as he found love in the most unlikely of places- improvised reality television.
After the show, Josh gave the audience a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most popular reality TV shows in America. During his Q&A, he described his experience on the show as “a lot of waiting” and told us how he got used to repeating natural conversations for audio while having three cameras trained on him. And yes, ladies- he is single.
A huge thank you to Josh for being the coolest- we had so much fun. We’ll be riding the high from this show for two more weeks (12/13 and 12/20 at 9pm), and we have a special Valentine’s Day encore with Bachelorette Season 5 winner Ed Swiderski (2/14 at 7:30pm). We’ll see you there, #BachelorNation!
